This is it! The very last piece. Thank you, sweeties for showing an interesting in my neglected old book. There will be more Mocklore bits and pieces in the New Year, but for now - FINISHED Love you all. ( villains, heroes, possibly some kissing, definitely some closure... )
31st December 2007
Darlings! This is it, the final chapter. Happy New Year (there is an epilogue still to come, though, stay tuned) *Blows kisses to all* ( sorting the bad guys from the good guys... ish... )
25th December 2007
Merry Christmas All! An extra present for you. I'll be trying to get the last of this up later in the week, so stay tuned for the grand finale. Loves! ( and finally the crack about those crazy teenagers is starting to make sense... )

Eeeeee - so close, so close! This is an action packed chapter with lots of backstory goodies for those of you who have been following the Aragon/Kassa story for an insanely long time. I love that there are still some of you out there who care about these guys. Really. I'll try to have the last two chapters out on a faster turnaround than I have previously - maybe one more by Christmas if you're very, very good. Loves! UPDATE: sorry for the appalling formatting, all fixed now. ( the walking dead fail to bite anyone's head off, the past is exposed, much is explained, and we hurtle towards a messy magical narrative climax... )
13th December 2007
Hello sweeties... It's the home stretch now! Only 3 to go after this, so we'll definitely be finished by the end of the year And then I'll be looking at what extra Mocklore goodies I can pack into this blog. Red letter week - I finished my naked boys/Roman festivals/dressmaker dark fantasy novel. Hooray! The next novel is a Gothic Tasmania YA featuring psychic teenage girls, ghosts, demons and Lady Jane Franklin. I am starting to get excited! ( just because the universe isn't exploding right now doesn't mean it's not out to get you... )

It's been an odd sort of week, and once more I shall have to be enigmatic, but suffice to say... there will be some announcements relating to my writing career at some point in the next month or so. Because apparently I have one. Woohoo! In the meantime, let us continue to chew over novels past, with another installment in The Adventures of Singespitter the Sheep and his Sidekicks. Much love, Tansy ( so basically, the weather? not our friend today. )
24th November 2007
Hello my darlings! It's been a stinking hot day, but things are starting to look up as we keep one eye on the election tally room. (best moment of the night, Kerry O'Brien discussing the seat of Benelong, referring to the percentage swing "to the ABC." It's funny because it's TRUE! Never mind politics, have something ridiculous: ( never trust a warlock to kiss it better... )

Apologies for the delay! I was off in the wilds of deepest North West Tassie. Enclosed is a chapter of the plot thickening variety. ( Drak Magic, Chapter 12: Into the Light )

Me again, bringing you another chapter of light, love and whiter than white whites. I feel the need to apologise now for the fact that this is the Exposition Chapter of Doom. It has been annoying the hell out of me for... well, since the year 2000, basically. On and off. I think it's better now than it was. But now I am officially shooting the author and shipping the manuscript. To you, my sweeties. ( In which all is explained (ish), Egg becomes Singespitter's new best friend, and Kassa doesn't think she's in Mocklore anymore, Toto... )

Hi all I must apologise for missing a chapter last week. I could offer all manner of outlandish excuses, but the truth is I have joined an online Harry Potter RPG which I love more than life itself.Heh, well maybe not quite... but it has been a spiralling vortex which sadly left all spiralling vortexes (vortices?) in its wake. So, um, sorry. And I'll be good from now on. Promise. ( what big wibbly thing, where? )

It has been a whirlwind week, about which I have ultimately very little to say. Except, is it Thursday already??? ( Drak Magic, Chapter 9: How Drak Won the War )

Now, I'd pretty much decided that I wouldn't post any short stories here until after I've finished with Drak Magic, cos of the confusion. Plus if I don't get too distracted, I should have this whole book out for you by Christmas! But today is an exception, because it is randomalex's birthday. Yay Alex! I've really enjoyed getting to know you this year, and I love that I have made a new friend with whom I can gossip about Caesar and Antony and all that ancient civs stuff! So, for you... (people who aren't Alex are also allowed to read it) This story is set between Splashdance Silver and Liquid Gold. It goes some way to explaining why there are no books in this world, and serves as a remarkably appropriate prequel to Drak Magic. ( In which books threaten the cosmos, and a princess has a very strange day... )

I have exciting news which I can't possibly tell you yet, but suffice to say... it looks like there might be a Tansy book release in 2008. Shh! I will say no more. Also, I had forgotten entirely about this whole chapter with its disturbing bondage elements! And the kicking of the arse. I am having fun revisiting this book! ( Drak Magic, Chapter 8: A Compelling Proposal )

Heh. Re-reading the fish surprise dialogue between Clio and Egg, I'm beginning to suspect that they were the prototypes for Tabitha and Stewart in my chick lit novel, Cafe La Femme. Though I wrote the original version of *that* manuscript long before this one. Also, this chapter contains much costume porn. As ever. :) Not sure if anyone's noticed the lack of actual books at the Polyhedrotechnical? It was one of those things I hit on as an essential society detail for Mocklore - and the reason for it is explained in the teeny Kassa short story I have teasingly hinted at and will post at some stage soon. Even now, on about the 5th edit for this manuscript, I have to keep editing out accidental references to books that aren't supposed to be there! I practically *punctuate* with books, like many writers, so keeping them out is hard work. But I must be strong. Scrolls and papyrus only. PS: Of course, they do have the concept of "book" as in self-contained work of writing, but as with the Ancient Romans, a book could consist of many scrolls, and was often stored in a bucket. So the occasional reference to "book" is not an issue. Unless it has pages. In which case, I have screwed up. If you spot any of these, please let me know! Comments, feedback, smooches; these things are loved and prized. ( Drak Magic, Chapter 6: The Summoning of Ghosts )

I received an exciting sack of manga from Amazon today, and have been mainlining Fruits Basket ever since. Oh, the pretty people and the angst and the kooky humour. I do love it so. It's put me just in the mood for - you guessed it, another chapter of Drak Magic. My honey says I should be putting out two chapters a week. And hey - he pays the daycare fees. I want to thank those of you who commented (and emailed me!) about the last chapter. Heh. Seriously, none of you saw it coming? I do love to make people spit food across the room. ( Drak Magic, Chapter 5 - Justice and Black Lace )

Current Mood: giggly
My honey requested a chapter today. "Shoo, I said. "Be off with you. I am working on my Bestseller today. I do not have time for such frivolities. I have *daycare fees* to justify." So, heh. And here we are. Have a chapter. ( Drak Magic, Chapter 4 - Poached Albatross and the Demon Dance )
